 Claire
Rutter joined Burn & Company as a Partner and specialist
in Insurance Litigation. She is now Head of Litigation
within the firm and has overall responsibility for all
Litigation Sections. She has worked in Civil Litigation,
usually for Defendants, and primarily for Local Authorities,
Fire Authorities and the Police and has vast experience
in personal injury cases including Employers’
and Public Liability.
Graduating from Warwick with an Honours Law Degree
Claire went on to complete her Finals at Chester College
of Law. Her Training was completed with a Leeds firm
of Solicitors, after which Claire joined Witcombe Kilburn,
becoming a Partner.
Claire's widespread knowledge of Insurance Litigation
began when, in her previous position as Partner with
Witcombe Kilburn, she was asked to advise and represent
a major Local Authority handling the most complex Insurance
Claims. Since joining Burn & Company, Claire and
her team have built up trusting relationships with Local
Authorities and Insurance Companies across the region
and nationwide and she is a member of the Forum of Insurance
Lawyers (FOIL).
Claire is also an Accredited Mediator having qualified
with the Centre for Dispute Resolution (CEDR) in 2000.
