Our Insurance Litigation Department aims to be strong, flexible, and competitive at all times. From one-off road traffic incidents to complex and contentious public and employer’s liability claims, we have the skills, and resources, to handle every defendant insurer’s case, always with our clients’ best interests in mind. We are a small and highly specialised team, with experience in handling all types of insurance claims on behalf of individuals, insurance companies, and large public sector organisations.

We make it a priority to respond in detail to new instructions from insurance companies within three working days and update existing case files once every six weeks. We take pride in our plain-speaking, no-nonsense advice and our ability to resolve cases swiftly and efficiently.

What can Burn and Company’s Insurance Litigation Department offer you?

At Burn and Company, we handle all insurance cases with equal commitment and integrity and make it our business to become fully involved on your behalf.

In a typical case we would:

  • allocate one legal specialist to oversee your case

  • provide acknowledgement of your initial instructions by return of post

  • give a detailed response and advice to your new instructions within three working days

  • make an early evaluation as to whether to ‘fight’ or ‘settle’ and, if applicable, offer frank and realistic advice regarding settlement fees

  • where necessary, conduct our own research to build the best possible case for defence andinterview key witnesses in person

  • update your file every 6-8 weeks and seek your further instructions whenever necessary

  • communicate with you verbally, and in writing, on a regular basis

  • advise on the likely cost of our work at all times

So why choose us?

The answer is simple: we are a flexible and talented department with sufficient experience to handle all insurance cases, yet still small enough to adapt our services to suit every client’s needs. We have an excellent network of medical, forensic, and investigative experts to call on and can act quickly on the most complex of cases.

If you feel we can be of any assistance in handling insurance claims on your behalf, or if you would like to know more about our insurance litigation services, please contact:

Claire Rutter - Head of Insurance Litigation Department.
